Migraine is a very common type of headache affecting at least 1 adult in every 7 in the world. Women are commonly affected, almost up to 3 times more than men, the possible cause may be hormonal.

Migraine commonly affects the middle-aged (between 35 and 45 years) but can also occur in younger one including children.

Duration of headache
Headache attacks lasting 4–72 h (untreated or unsuccessfully treated)
Headache has at least two of the following four characteristics:
 (a) one sided location  (b) pulsating quality  (c) moderate or severe pain intensity  (d) aggravation by or causing avoidance of routine physical activity (e.g. walking or climbing stairs)
During headache at least one of the following:
 (a) nausea and/or vomiting  (b) photophobia and phonophobia
